Datamoshing used to mean hunting down a 2011 build of Avidemux and hoping it didn’t crash. This toolkit does the frame surgery for you with ffmpeg and a small Python script, so it runs on a current Mac, PC or Linux machine.

Give it two clips and it deletes the keyframe at the cut, so the second clip’s motion drags the first clip’s pixels. Give it one clip and it can melt it into its own motion, or repeat a single frame’s motion until the image blooms outward.
